EMCO's Turbo-Bar turbine flow meter provides significant cost savings for line sizes from 3 to 80 inches without compromising performance. With high accuracy, wide turndown, and a unique low mass rotor design without welded joints, EMCO's Turbo-Bar gives our customers the benefit of over 30 years of practical experience. The Turbo-Bar measures liquids or gases, including steam, for pipe sizes from 3 to 80 inches.

Significant Cost Savings

  • One Turbo-Bar turbine flowmeter is suitable for pipe sizes 3 to 80 in., so there is one purchase price regardless of pipe size, resulting in typical savings of up to 80% for 24 in. lines and 50% for 10 in. lines compared to full-bore flowmeters
  • Installed quickly and easily, saving as much as 70% in labour installation costs when compared to full-bore flowmeters
  • Hot tap compatible installation allows removal without process shutdown; this not only avoids disruption of a critical process, but also reduces labour costs
  • Optional bi-directional flow measurement enables one Turbo-Bar turbine flow meter to replace two uni-directional flowmeters
  • Negligible pressure drop, typically 10 times less than an orifice plate, reduces energy and operating costs
  • Unique low mass rotor design is fabricated from one solid block of stainless steel, with no welded joints, maximizing rotor longevity and increasing sensitivity to changes in flow
  • Optional integral pressure and temperature measurement enables mass flow measurement from one pipe tap (installation)
