Dual Chord
Compared to a single-chord version, with the MINISONIC 600-2 and MINISONIC 2000-2, the management of 2 chords placed correctly on the same pipe provides better monitoring for the hydraulic conditions specific to the site and are the key to better accuracy.
There are two main possible acquisition configurations:
- Two parallel and symmetrical chords with intrusive or wetted probes aligned in pairs
- Two cross-path diametrical planes with clamp on external probes
Dual Pipe
The dual pipe versions MINISONIC 600-B and 2000-B main purpose is to offer a higher performance ultrasonic flow measurement solution at a cheaper price compared to the use of two separated converters. The over all concept was to provide the MINISONIC hardware and firmware resources the option of setting different output data from the same converter. For instance, the end-user is free to set the two 4-20 mA outputs or the two relays dedicated to each pipe. Moreover, these versions can calculate, display and transmit a QT flow value equal to the sum or the difference of the two flows that device measures on two independent pipes.
Another usual configuration for the dual pipe versions is to install the two set of transducers on the same pipe and close to each other to improve the measurement reliability, or at two different locations to perform a line balance or bust pipe detection.
In both cases (MINISONIC-2) and (MINISONIC–B), it is also possible to use one channel and keep the other for a separate installation.
